Many women settle for an average life, failing to fulfill their God-given destiny because of the shadows of a difficult childhood, adolescence, or marriage. They have endured unexplainable and unpredictable challenges, hardships and traumas, often shaping their entire identities and perception of the world around those wounds.
For some, this pain has become a fortress—an excuse for their current circumstances and an escape from their potential. However, if we look at the Bible, we see that many people who fulfilled their divine purpose first walked through the fire of trauma.
We have the example of Joseph, who was betrayed by his own brothers and sold into slavery, and Rahab, who lived as a prostitute but transformed her life to become an ancestor of Jesus Christ.
This is the reality of living in a fallen world. As John 10:10 reminds us, the enemy’s primary mission is to steal, kill, and destroy—specifically to hinder you from reaching your God-ordained finish line. The truth is, almost everyone around us carries a past. You might feel your story is uniquely “ugly” or “broken” compared to theirs, but the struggle is universal; we all have a past.
So, what is the way out for a child of God?
Now that you are born again, your past is covered by the Blood. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, you are a new creation; the old has passed away. God no longer remembers your sins. His love for you is steadfast, and His plans for you are for good and not for evil.

While your spirit is made new instantly, your soul (your mind and emotions) requires a journey of healing. Remember, Christ came specifically to heal the brokenhearted. This restoration involves:
- Planting yourself in a Bible-believing church.
- Submitting yourself to the teaching and obedience of the Word of God.
- Committing to personal study and meditation on Scripture.
- Seeking counsel from a professional Christian therapist.
- Pursuing deliverance and spiritual freedom where needed.
Your past does not define your future. Reach out for help, embrace your healing, and let go of what was. There is boundless hope and a bright future ahead of you in Christ.

My past is covered by the blood of Jesus! 💯
